It seemed like it had been forever since we were last at the Doc's for a check-up and this morning became a highly anticipated visit in the Vernon household. I am happy to report that our little preemie Mia is now 2 feet and 3/4 inches tall (75th percentile) and 13 lbs. 10 oz. (50th percentile) so she is "ahead" of schedule according to Dr. Gonzalez. We couldn't be happier with this news and continue to pray that she keeps doing so well with all of her developmental milestones. It was almost like Mia started to figure out where she was and what happens today as well, she kept a close eye on the Doc as she prepared her 4 shots and really started squirming before receiving them.
She got through pretty well and has done great so far today, and even enjoyed time in her Bumbo as you can see above. I've added some more pictures of our post visit afternoon in the bumbo to the picture website so I hope you all enjoy. Mia does need to go to the Orthopedic at Children's Hospital at the end of May as a precautionary visit to have them look at her tailbone. Meg noticed it looks like the outline (two lines instead of one) of a "tail" in her words so Dr. Gonzalez asked me to schedule a visit, although she is almost positive it is nothing. We'll keep you updated on that, and if anyone else shares a similar story please let us know.
Just as Meg said on Monday, we will continue to post once or twice a week as we had been previously after getting some complaints, just kidding, that we were not updating you all enough. Until next week, hope all is well and if you are ever in the area feel free to give us a call and stop by to see our BIG girl whenever you want.
